Our Christian Heritage – Alexander Hamilton

September 09, 2008 By: P.R.E.Z. Category: Alexander Hamilton, Christian, Founding Father, constitution, great american

One of the Founding Fathers of this country, Alexander Hamilton, was one of the signers of the Constitution and some say one of the key people in that being carried out. He authored 51 of the 85 Federalist Papers which were a substantial influence in the Constitution being ratified. He was the first Secretary of Treasury, founded The New York Post, and also founded one of the first banks in New York. His likeness is on the ten dollar bill.

Alexander Hamilton led his household regularly in family prayer and in a letter to his friend James Bayard in April of 1802, he expressed his view on the importance of the connection between Christianity and Constitutional freedom:

In my opinion, the present constitution is the standard to which we are to cling. Under its banner bona fide must we combat our political foes, rejecting all changes but through the channel itself provided for amendments. By these general views of the subject have my reflections been guided.

I now offer you the outline of the plan they have suggested. Let an association be formed to be denominated “The Christian Constitutional Society,” its object to be first: the support of the Christian religion. Second: the support of the United States.

  1. Alexander Hamilton was bisexual. His boyfriend was John Laurens! Sorry, homosexual christians have existed and will continue to exist and be accepted in Christ’s heaven when they die!

  2. I have no idea what the obsession is with liberal colleges and historians that have to try and make everyone a homosexual. They have some serious issues.

In reference to your assertion…uh, you’re wrong.

A close look at the evidence of the letters that supposedly verify this allegation has proven more that they didn’t have a sexual relationship than they did.

At any rate, the evidence is inconclusive and leans the other way. So that fast ball just lost all kinds of steam.

In reference to there being Christians who are homosexual, I’m sure there are. However, those who are true Christians have an “ex” prefix in front of that moniker. Moses was a murderer, David an adulterer, Abraham a liar, Mary Magdalene and Rahab prostitutes. But they all had encounters with God and never made excuses for their sin. They knew it was wrong and turned from their ways.

The Bible is clear: homosexuality is an abomination. There is no getting around that as much as this society would love to try to twist scripture to say what it isn’t saying.

This all really stems from an evil heart:

The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

The first one a person’s heart deceives is themselves.

A text taken out of context is called a pretext. Learn how to study your Bible then conform to what it says, not what you’d like it to say.

Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
