TEA Party Review: Americans vs. Race

April 17, 2009 By: P.R.E.Z. Category: Tea Party, african americans, freedom, liberty

Wednesday, I attended one of the nine nearby TEA Parties that was going on in my area. Over 700 people attended. It was a poignant and uplifting occasion as Americans expressed their extreme displeasure at what our representatives were doing in Washington. I was even honored with the privilege of closing the event out with a prayer.

As much as many pseudo news media outlets were trying to spin it as anti-government and Obama, it truly showed how out of touch they were with the whole movement because it was much more than that which this plastic reporter certainly missed:

The Lack Of Melanin

In my neck of the woods, the only thing that disappointed me about the TEA Parties was the lack of blacks and hispanics. Overall, I’d say that it was probably similar across the country.

I honestly believe that blacks and hispanics have fallen prone to what I call the Insanity Complex. They do the same thing over and over expecting different results. Blacks and hispanics continue to vote for the same people over and over. They are just as poor as when they were before or sometimes worse. Einstein called this the definition of insanity. I agree.

Grant it, part of that is just plain old laziness which the Bible is real clear about:

The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. (Proverbs 12:27)

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. (Proverbs 21:25)

Another part of that is ignorance which is propagated by those who want to keep them that way. God forbid that they would become informed and educate themselves on what this government is doing. That, of course, would mean they’d be found out. Ignorance is so much easier.

The message needs to go out to every neighborhood. We need to educate, empower, enlighten, and evangelize the message of freedom and liberty given to us by the Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ. His message sets free ultimately and He’s blessed us with this country.

Now What?

I’ll end with this:

When the children of Israel were going to the Promised Land, it had already been given to them by the Lord. But that didn’t mean they didn’t have work to do. They had to drive out the enemies that was in the land first. They had to trust God and do their part.

We have to do the same. America has been established as a nation for over 200 years and it’s ours. But we can’t get slothful and complacent. We need to be ever vigilant because freedom is not free. Freedom is work.

It’s bad now. Yes. But through Christ, we can do all things. (Phillipians 4:13)

My suggestion would be to:

1. Pray - Pray for the Lord’s will. Pray for mercy. Pray for grace. Pray for godly leadership.

2. Read - First and foremost, the Bible. Know what principles we stand on. Know what God says about government, righteousness, and morality. Then inform yourselves. Most of you already do. But inform those around you in your neighborhood. Family. Friends.

3. Act - First and foremost as laid out by out Lord in the scriptures (by those of you who are Christians). These TEA Parties are just the beginning. Form vigilant citizen organizations and keep the pressure on. Call or write your congress people as well as your city official. Take time out of your day to be informed and to inform.

4. Pray - You can never do this enough.

God bless.

Republican, Conservative, and Black

January 26, 2009 By: P.R.E.Z. Category: abortion, african americans, blacks, conservative republicans, macho sauce

I think that it’s very important to understand that all black people did not vote for Barack Obama. As a matter of fact, when we look at the results of the popular vote, it came down to a 52% to 48% split which means that pretty much half of the nation did not want Barack Obama to president. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that a good portion of those were black Americans.

Being black and conservative appears to have some kind of Pariah complex tied to it in the black culture. However, more and more are bucking that mindset as they actually begin to educate themselves on what it means to be a conservative. If you’ve missed that then you may want to check out my series answering the question What’s A Conservative Christian?

That being said, I’d like to provide some proof of my statements.

Below is a young black man that’s a conservative republican. I know that some people are just stunned but there are many out there. He has a series of videos out that I follow and some of are very good. This happens to be one of them.

It all goes to show that not all black people fell for the ruse.
